Family Dinners

We’ve started doing family dinners around here at Maison Gianni on Sunday nights.

The concept is simple: We pick an ethnic theme (from a hat) and then we divide up the courses into appetizer, side, protein, and dessert.

Our first dinner is inspired by South-East Asia. We make limeade, coconut soup, pad thai and fried bananas.

While letting our feast settle comfortably into our bellies we choose the theme for our next dinner: Mexican.

Enter guacamole, pulled pork, spicy rice, grilled zucchini, and churros. Yes that’s right, Kristyn tackles deep-frying with composure and delicious results.

Afterwards we play dice, all the while listening to latin music and sipping lime infused drinks.

Next time? Eastern European.
